Re: Dr frankensteins Bed
Hey Stephen its looking good man
Answers to questions below:
Need to camera match the reference more closely:
-- No it looks good
The graininess of the AO pass
--might be from the samples size in max, but don't worry about it you can adjust it in photoshop
The bed to highpoly
-- no its ok,
Problems with mental ray
-- looks like its on the wrong uv set maybe? but don't worry about mental ray I would not use it, also don't worry about renders at all just look at it through the viewport
does the bed frame need high poly normal details
-- no it does not
UV Uwrap
-- looks ok, but did you uv the entire bed mattress, if so you should delete the polys covered by the blanket, and re-uv. This will save a ton of uv space
Underneath connection and stand:
-- it looks fine dont worry about it, I like how it sits on the ground now
Deleted opposite side faces:
-- please add them back in, we may/will use this in other games and it may not be in the same orientation. Only delete downward facing polys that no one could see no matter how the bed is rotated. but have them share uv space of what you already rendered
looking good thanks man
